Terms of Service for Phone Communications

These Terms of Service for Phone Communications (these “Terms”) apply when you provide a phone number to Emergency Leash and consent to receive communications from us by SMS or text message. These Terms are intended to cover scan alerts, missing pet alerts, account related messages, and if you separately opt in, marketing messages.

2. Consent to receive text messages
By providing your phone number, creating an account, enabling text alerts, submitting a missing pet alert, or otherwise opting in, you agree that Emergency Leash may send you text messages at the number you provide.
Messages may include:
(a) service or transactional messages, such as QR Code or NFC tag scan alerts, missing pet alerts, verification codes, account notifications, and support messages
(b) if you separately opt in, promotional or marketing messages, such as product updates, offers, or announcements
Text messages may be sent using an automated system. Message frequency varies depending on your settings and activity, including tag scans and alerts.
3. Opting out
You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message.
After you opt out, you may receive a final confirmation message. If you later want to re enable texts, follow the instructions in the app or contact us through the support options on our website or in the app.
Important note: Opting out stops promotional messages and may stop some non promotional messages. Certain critical service messages may still be sent when necessary to provide or protect the service, such as security or fraud related notices, or when required by law.

Standard message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details.
6. Supported carriers and delivery
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is subject to effective transmission by your carrier and your device settings.
7. Your responsibilities
You agree to:
(a) provide a valid phone number you control
(b) keep your contact information up to date
(c) secure your device and account credentials
(d) use text alert features lawfully and in a way that does not harass or harm others
If you provide a phone number for an emergency contact, you represent that you have permission to provide that number and that the person expects to receive messages related to pet reunification and alerts.
8. Privacy and data usage
We use your phone number and messaging metadata to send alerts and communications you request, to operate the service, and to prevent abuse.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the Effective Date above when changes are posted. Your continued use of text alerts after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
